What is ECC Latvia?

European Consumer Centre of Latvia (ECC Latvia) works to protect the rights of consumers when purchasing goods or services in any EU country, as well as in Norway and Iceland. In addition, ECC Latvia cooperates with UK International Consumer Centre.

ECC Latvia is part of the European Consumer Centres Network (ECC-Net) and operates under the Latvian Consumer Rights Protection Centre, with financial support from the European Commission.

Our aim is to help consumers safely take advantage of the opportunities and benefits of the European Single Market.

ECC Latvia provides help to:

  • Latvian citizens who have problems purchasing goods or services in another EU country, Norway, Iceland or UK.
  • citizens of other EU countries, Norway, Iceland and UK if they have problems with their purchases in Latvia.

  • when purchasing goods or services outside Latvia;
  • when shopping online;
  • when travelling by air (denied boarding, cancelled flight, long delay, lost or damaged luggage);
  • renting a car;
