Ticket Purchase

When purchasing an airline ticket online, always check whether you are buying directly from the airline’s official website or through a third-party ticket sales platform, which may charge an additional service fee on top of the ticket price.

Any contract concluded online must comply with all consumer protection regulations.

According to Regulation (EC) No. 1008/2008 on common rules for air transport services within the Community, airline websites must display the final price of the flight along with applicable terms and conditions. The final price must include all taxes, airport charges, and mandatory fees that are foreseeable at the time of booking.

Additionally, airlines must clearly itemize all mandatory and foreseeable price components that make up the total fare.

Information on optional fees must be clearly, transparently, and accurately presented at the beginning of the booking process, allowing the consumer to actively choose whether to accept additional charges.
