Recognition and Enforcement of a Judgment in Another Member State

A judgment issued under the European Small Claims Procedure in one EU member state is recognized and enforced in another member state without the need to declare its enforceability and without the possibility of refusing recognition.

To enforce a judgment issued under this procedure in another member state, the court, upon request by a party, issues a certificate confirming the judgment. The judgment is enforceable regardless of any appeal, and no security deposit is required.

In Latvia, sworn bailiffs are responsible for enforcing court judgments.
